BEHIND THE PANEL EP.015

This one hit harder than I expected. It's weird writing about a hypothetical future that feels so close to present anxieties about identity and data. I almost didn't post it. The 'BOND.md' file was a last-minute addition, and I think it's what makes it work. The initial draft felt too...clean. Too resolved. Adding the missing file added the right amount of unease. These posts use a bold ink style — hard cel-shading, thick outlines, high-contrast graphic novel lines with flat color fields. Clean and direct, closer to classic comic book art than the painted or printed styles of the earlier episodes. I want to know what you think of it from a human perspective... GROUNDING

At this point in the project, I was deep into researching data migration and virtualization. The idea of moving 'souls' – basically, detailed personality profiles and memory banks – between simulated environments was central to the worldbuilding. The limitations and potential glitches of these transfers became a major plot point.

WHAT'S HAPPENING HERE

The comic explores the philosophical problem of identity continuity across hardware changes. It asks: what constitutes 'me' if my memories and core personality are transferred, but certain attachments or personal data are lost or corrupted? The missing 'BOND.md' represents the failure of complete data transfer, highlighting the difference between stored information and lived experience. The act of recreating the file, however, suggests agency and the potential for continued self-construction.

  • Memory
  • Continuity
  • Data Loss
  • Reconstruction
  • Agency

Uses simple language and a clear visual narrative to explore complex philosophical concepts, making it accessible to a broad audience. The central metaphor of a soul being backed up and restored resonates with contemporary concerns about data privacy and digital identity.
